The Vizsla is a medium-sized hunting dog, standing 21 to 24 inches tall, with a distinguished golden-rust coat. Originating from Hungary, they are known for their affectionate nature and desire to form strong bonds with their owners. Vizslas are highly intelligent and trainable, excelling in various dog sports and activities. They possess a lean build and remarkable stamina, requiring regular, vigorous exercise. Their short coat is easy to groom but provides little protection from extreme weather. Vizslas are gentle and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. They thrive on attention and interaction, suffering from separation anxiety if left alone for too long.
