EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

The original soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann's documentary film, *EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert*, which explores the true story of Elvis Presley.

This soundtrack features 27 songs performed in the film, including newly mixed versions of iconic live performances, new remixes, and medleys of Elvis's classic hits.

*EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert* is a documentary film that can be considered a sequel to the biographical film *Elvis*, which was released in theaters in 2022 and became a worldwide hit. It had a limited one-week IMAX release starting February 20th, followed by a worldwide theatrical release on February 27th (a theatrical release in Japan is also scheduled for 2026). This film offers a unique cinematic experience, showcasing Elvis's songs and story in an unprecedented way, making it a must-see for music and entertainment lovers alike, not just Elvis fans.

During the production of the 2022 film "Elvis," Baz Luhrmann and his team discovered a treasure trove of long-hidden film negatives and footage in Warner Bros.' vault. This included footage shot for the documentaries "Elvis: The Way It Is," which chronicled Elvis's 1970 Las Vegas performances chronologically, and "Elvis on Tour," filmed during his 1972 US tour, as well as previously unreleased 8mm film and unreleased audio recordings of Elvis discussing his career. Baz Luhrmann and his team collaborated with numerous partners, including Academy Award nominee Jonathan Redmond and Peter Jackson's Park Road Post Productions, to restore these materials over many years. Beyond the energy of Elvis's iconic and unique performances, what was revealed was the hidden figure behind the myth, described by Baz Luhrmann as "completely at ease on stage, able to feel the genuine love from his fans, and able to express himself with an intimacy and humanity unlike any other artist."

The combination of remixes and medleys that boldly fuse, reconstruct, and reinterpret Elvis in new directions results in a film and soundtrack that testifies to how Elvis's 1970s performances were "amazingly ahead of their time" (Variety) and "at the time when he was most captivating as a singer" (The Guardian). The soundtrack album was executive produced by Grammy-nominated Baz Luhrmann.

The previously released track, "Wearing That Night Life Look," was created by Baz Luhrmann and the film's music producer, Grammy-nominated Jamieson Shaw, with the vision of "creating an entirely new track from Elvis's DNA." It's based on Elvis's classic hits "Wearing That Loved On Look," "Night Life," "Hallelujah John," and "Let Yourself Go."

Regarding the inspiration behind the album's new medleys and remixes, Baz Luhrmann said: "We were constantly asking ourselves: What would Elvis have done if he were alive? How would he have experimented, and in what direction would he have gone? He was always a musical explorer, searching for different flavors and sounds."
