SWIRLS consists of a Tri-Stereo chorus emulation, a micro pitch shifter, and an aggressive VCA-style compressor. This combination of effects is quite famous, perhaps best known for Michael Landau's groundbreaking album "Tales from the Bulge." In the 1980s, large rack systems were in vogue, and guitarists often stacked effects in parallel to add thickness to their sound. However, this usually required multiple rack units and complex wiring, sometimes resulting in a setup the size of a refrigerator. SWIRLS extracts the essence of this particular sound and is designed to eliminate the need for a cart to transport all the equipment.
