6x HEM Hexagonal Incense - Smudge - Palo Santo

Warm, dry and softly woody, Palo Santo is a scent that settles a room rather than filling it. These HEM sticks bring that quiet, aromatic character into an easy format: light one, and the air takes on a calm, ritual-inspired mood that suits a slow evening or a few minutes of stillness.

What you'll notice

A dry, woody fragrance with a gentle sweetness, closer to warm timber than to anything sharp or floral.

A scent that suits unhurried moments: meditation, yoga, a reading hour, or the last quiet stretch of the evening.

An easy stick format, so there is no resin to heat and no charcoal to manage. Light the tip, set it in a holder, and let it unfold.

A hexagonal tube in warm amber tones, marked "Ritual Botanica" and "Smudge Incense Sticks", which makes it as pleasing on a shelf as in use.

The scent, and where it comes from

Palo Santo means "holy wood" in Spanish. It comes from a tree native to South America, and its aroma is prized for exactly this dry, woody warmth. HEM, an Indian incense house, captures that character in a stick, made in India. The result is a fragrance that reads as calm and grounded, with a little of the ritual feel that Palo Santo is known for.

How to burn it

Light the tip, let it flame for a few seconds, then blow it out so it glows and smoulders. Stand the plain end in a heat-resistant holder or ash catcher. Incense sticks usually burn for roughly thirty to sixty minutes, though this varies, so check the pack for specifics. Burn in a ventilated space, keep it away from anything flammable, and never leave it unattended. To put it out, press the tip into sand or ash rather than using water.

Where it fits

Palo Santo suits transitions: the start of a morning practice, the shift from work to evening, or the quiet before sleep. A stick burned while you stretch, journal or simply sit gives the room a settled, contemplative air. It also works well when you want to refresh a space with something warmer than a candle.
