Leonardo Paradox: The Intersection of Words and Images Seen in Da Vinci's Notebooks… Vairāk

The driving force behind Da Vinci's art was the "paradox" of thought! Unraveling the notes and paintings of this "universal genius," who is said to have spent more time writing than painting, this book delves into the thoughts of Da Vinci, who was tormented by "paradox" and contradiction! Leonardo da Vinci took 15 years to complete the Mona Lisa, and even during the boom in letterpress printing, he insisted on the uniqueness of handwriting. By tracing his thoughts on words and images in detail based on the extensive notes, drawings, and paintings he left behind, this book elucidates how "paradox" was the driving force behind Da Vinci's art. For example, the paradox that arose when Da Vinci's thoughts on nature gave rise to the sfumato technique, but which contradicted his verbal expression, is well worth a read.
