Currently in its fourth generation, the car's basic concept remains consistent through to the current model, and the motto "Jinba Ittai" (oneness between man and car) was used, likening the enjoyment of driving freely to horseback riding. The car's retractable headlights, which pop up when turned on, create a bold, masculine look when turned off. The Hot Wheels model is finished in a "V Special"-style color scheme, combining a British Green body color with a tan interior, reminiscent of the British sports cars of the 1950s and 1960s that inspired it.
