Kaiyodo Artpla Sculpture Works Godzilla ReImagination (2026 reissue) unpainted plastic model kit AP058

The series "ARTPLA SCULPTURE WORKS," which delivers masterpiece sculptural works as plastic kits, now features a sculpt of Godzilla! The prototype is crafted by Shinobu Matsumura, a leading figure in natural history and biological sculpture. While based on promotional stills from the 1954 release of "Godzilla," it reconstructs and recreates the essence of various Godzilla incarnations over the past 70 years. Instead of reproducing the suits or CGI, it depicts the ancient giant creature appearing in Tokyo in three dimensions. The collapsed foot of the Nikkei Building and the National Rail elevated line serve as the base, enhancing the sense of realism with a pose that captures a train in its jaws. Matsumura's dedicated sculptural work is condensed into a plastic kit with eight runners in a fixed pose. The organic and complex surface details are faithfully reproduced from the prototype. Despite the complex division, the structure allows for attaching surface parts to a base body, ensuring durability. The parts fit together with high precision, and the separation lines are discreet. The assembly itself is enjoyable, and once completed, it becomes a display-worthy ornament even in its unpainted state. Of course, if painted, the combination of the super giant creature Godzilla and the collapsed structures will inspire imaginative painting. Size: Non-scale, total height: approximately 185mm. This product requires assembly as a plastic model kit. Plastic model adhesive is needed for assembly. The images shown are samples from the development stage and may differ slightly from the actual product. Thank you for your understanding. TM & (C) TOHO.
